200 mesh reusable nylon filter bag, 4 x 10 inches. Fine filtration for sumps and external filters. (Reusable)
Fine particulate waste in a reef sump or external filter passes straight through coarser filter media and accumulates in the system, contributing to nutrient load and reducing water clarity over time. A 200 mesh filter sock positioned at the sump inlet intercepts this debris before it reaches the rest of the filtration system, making maintenance more manageable and keeping dissolved organics lower between water changes.
This 200 mesh nylon filter bag is 4 inches wide by 10 inches long, supplied with a rigid frame that holds its shape and maintains consistent flow through the mesh. It functions as a mechanical filter sock for sumps and external filter housings, and also as a media bag for activated carbon, phosphate remover, bio media, and chemical resins where a contained, flow-through format is needed. Fully reusable and washable, and suitable for both freshwater and marine systems including reef tanks.
There is a second use case particularly relevant to Reefphyto customers: a 200 micron mesh is the correct size for harvesting and concentrating live rotifers and copepods from culture vessels. Pouring a culture through the bag retains the animals while passing the culture water, allowing a clean harvest for feeding or transferring to a new vessel without losing animals through a finer or coarser mesh.
