This internal sponge bio filter combines a 5W submersible pump, dual fine sponges, and ceramic bio media in a single self-contained unit suitable for freshwater and marine tanks up to 120L at £19.99. The dual sponges handle mechanical debris capture and provide a large colonisation surface for the beneficial bacteria that process ammonia and nitrite, while the ceramic bio media adds further biological filtration capacity for stable water chemistry over time. The adjustable outlet height of 26 to 37cm allows the output to be positioned for appropriate circulation in different tank depths, and the 1.7m cable length gives flexibility in placement. The pump runs on 220 to 240V at 50Hz and draws 5W.
Flow is gentle enough for fry and small marine juveniles including post-metamorphosis clownfish, making it well suited to breeding and grow-out tanks where an impeller-driven filter with a standard intake would present a risk to small livestock.
